Phillip Island
Pristine beaches, stunning wildlife, and the unforgettable Penguin Parade.
A tiny island with pristine white sand surf beaches and a haven for wildlife, Phillip Island is renowned worldwide for one of the most unique nature experiences—the nightly Penguin Parade.
Departing from Melbourne in the afternoon, a 90-minute drive will bring you to Cape Woolamai. Take a moment to watch local surfers before venturing on to the Koala Conservation Centre for superb eye-level views of Australia’s most beloved and cuddly marsupial.
Stroll along the clifftop boardwalks at ‘The Nobbies’ on the Summerland Peninsula. Soak in the coastal views and listen to the thundering blowhole from lookout points set amidst natural seabird gardens. As the sun begins to set, travel off-road along the rugged island coastline to spot wild wallabies and Cape Barren geese grazing at dusk.
Before the penguins' arrival, enjoy an informative journey through the colony. Then, take your seat, away from the crowds, in your choice of premium beachfront viewing stands. Watch in awe as members of the 32,000-strong penguin colony emerge from the water, cross the beach, and waddle their way to their nests.
Dinner will be served in the popular seaside village of Cowes at a favorite local restaurant.

“We had organized with Acacia a private tour to visit the Penguin Parade and what we got was nothing short of amazing. Our guide was a very informative guide and was very knowledgeable of the surrounding areas while driving us to Phillip Island. I would highly recommend Acacia tours while you are in Melbourne. You won’t be disappointed.”
